John Walker, Canopy Tour and Ropes Course Builder

John has been involved in the adventure education field since 1991.  Beginning as a facilitator with S.T.E.P.S., Inc., John learned early on the impact of course design on programming and set out to re-invent the wheel.  Beginnning with a dilapotated tree course, John was instrumental in designing and installing ropes courses, ambitious zip lines, and climbing structures to suport one of the largest programs in the Midwest.  After several years of programming and in-house design, John left S.T.E.P.S. briefly to pursue studies in design at the University of Colorado and the California College of Arts.  Combining his passion for design and the environment with more than 13 years of challenge course design and residential construction, John has developed a reputation for undertaking ambitious design projects that blend natural appeal with sound educational philosophies.

John works closely with each client to ensure that they receive a course that is functional, physically sound, and unique.  His eye for innovation, including environmentally friendly designs, are carried through the greater efforts of the entire organization and the entire build team.
